No! Any information we collect is for the sole purpose of shipping our products to you and communicating our services. We will never share this with any third party.

Your privacy is important to us at Hobby Spirit, we are thoughtful about the personal information we ask you to provide and the personal information that we collect about you through the operation of our services any run on an opt-in principle. We store personal information for only as long as we have a reason to keep it. Inactive accounts are purged periodically to further this end. 

We utilize industry standard Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) servers to encrypt your information and prevent unauthorized access.

While no online service is 100% secure, we work very hard to protect information about you against unauthorized access, use, alteration, or destruction, and take reasonable measures to do so. We monitor our Services for potential vulnerabilities and attacks.

To enhance the security of your account, we encourage you to enable our advanced security settings, like Two Step Authentication.

We work diligently to protect your data and keep it confidential. To ensure the utmost security, our servers never store or transmit any credit card data. When you enter a payment info on our website, it is encrypted and sent directly from your browser to our payment processor Stripe, Apple Pay, Google Pay or PayPal, who then sends us a token which we reference for future transactions. The token is meaningless to any outside party. These are large, well-respected payment processors which are fully PCI compliant. At no time does anyone at Hobby Spirit have access to your full credit card details.

Products

At the moment we offer a variety of collectibles, both new and used. Since our roots started on eBay, you’ll find our collection rather unique since you’ll find ceramics and transformable robots in the same shop but be assured we try to make sure all our items are treated equally.

As you’ve probably noticed our website theme and bulk of new items are sourced from Japan and focus on anime, manga, and other characters from the Japanese market, many of which have a popular history here in North America.

We have also delved into TCGs and other games, from Pokemon, MTG, and others. We list most of our singles on TCG Player, so take a look.

This is a long enduring hobby of ours and we will continue to expand this selection the most, yet we are always looking for fun and interesting items to add to our collection, so you’ll never know what treasures you might find here at Hobby Spirit.

All used items or collectibles will be listed as such, we strive to give a clear and accurate idea of condition to our customers through descriptions and photos.

We cannot guarantee that your perception will always match ours but we do have a lot of experience selling on eBay and using appropriate grading guides and practices for our items. We assure you that all of our distributors are reputable and we only purchase officially-licensed, authentic toys, games, and collectibles. We also import many of our Japanese products directly from Japan making authenticity a priority.

All new collectible products arriving at our shop are at least Standard Grade condition, meaning they are fresh out of the case with only minor issues such as scrapes, rubbing, dings, dents, or creases. These don’t take away from the overall appearance of the packaging and are suitable for opening or for display in their package.

Many items we receive do exceed this grade but at this time do not take requests for absolutely mint packages. As always we ship and pack to retain the best quality possible.

We do try our best to get a pristine product to you but every now and then a factory defect may be found inside that sealed item.

Unfortunately as a small business we cannot be responsible for most manufacturing defects. The good news is most major companies, such as Hasbro, Pokemon, and Wizards Of The Coast have processes in place to deal with this and can be contacted directly for replacements due to defects in the manufacturing process. We will of course do what we can to help you with this process.

Rip-Break-Open

Once you place an order to be opened live, your order will get added to the schedule for the next or current live stream (if one is ongoing). Items are opened in the order they are received.

After your items have been opened, they will be carefully packaged and shipped to you within 2 business days. You also have the option for local pick up at our store.

Items held for local pickup.

We will typically hold your items for up to 2 weeks. After that, they are considered abandoned unless we are contacted with a reasonable request to hold them longer.

No Returns and Condition.

As these items are opened live, there will be no returns accepted. We take the utmost care during our openings that you receive the item in the same condition as if you opened it yourself. For card openings, all shiny cards will be placed into penny sleeves. Bigger hits will be placed into penny sleeves AND card savers. All cards in your order will be placed into sealed team bags, and shipped in a padded envelope or box for larger orders.

Sales Tax

As required by law New York State sales tax is accessed on any sales shipping in New York State.

Cancellations

No, in most circumstances, since payment is immediate and most shipments go out in 24 hours. If you meant to combine items into one shipment or have another reason, you will need to contact us before the order is shipped.

All Pre-Orders are NON-REFUNDABLE. It is our policy that we do not cancel pre orders as we place our pre orders quantities with our distributors based off the number of preorders we get for each item.

We realize that emergencies happen and some customers have a need to cancel a preorder. In this rare instance, we can usually make a one-time exception, however, there is a 10% preorder cancellation fee that we charge of the order total. As an example, if your preorder total with shipping was $100 then we would only credit back $90.

Shipping

Orders Under $75 ($5 Flat Rate Shipping)

$5 Flat Rate Shipping is available on all orders shipping to street addresses within the contiguous United States on orders under $75.

Orders $75 Plus (Free Shipping)

Free Shipping is available on all orders shipping to street addresses within the contiguous United States on orders $75 and up.

Shipping Fees for Alaska, Hawaii, Armed Forces

Shipping fees to these destinations are based on actual product weights or dimensions. Dimensional weight reflects how much space a package takes in a truck or plane. Options will be available at checkout.

Shipping Methods

We use USPS, UPS, and FedEx for domestic delivery:

We choose the most cost effective method for our Flat and Free delivery options but essentially follow these guidelines.

  • Under 16 oz will usually be shipped First Class Parcel unless the value exceeds $50, then Priority Mail will be used with insurance.
  • Over 16 oz will usually be shipped Priority Mail
  • Extra large or extremely heavy orders will usually be shipped FedEx or UPS.

Delivery Estimates

We make every attempt to ship in stock items within one business day. We generally ship all Live Openings & Pre-Orders within 48 hours of the live or receipt of the product.

Delivery times vary depending on the shipping method and destination. Each shipping method will display a delivery date or date range of when a shipment can be expected for delivery when you receive tracking information. Most orders in the continental US are received in 2-10 business days.

Under normal circumstances the stated delivery day/range is accurate 99% of the time. There will be a small portion of shipments that take longer. If your delivery has not arrived we suggest you check the tracking to get a package update. Deliveries may also take longer if you live in an area that is experiencing an unexpected service delay, such as severe weather, natural disasters, unscheduled events, etc.

Currently we only do not offer International shipping except through our eBay store.

Returns & Refunds

Not all purchases are going to be perfect. As hard as we try, things may not always arrive as expected; with that in mind we offer a 30 day return policy. In most cases the buyer is responsible for return shipping.

You can choose store credit, or a refund for your purchase, less any shipping & handling charges and restocking fee of 15%.

Please understand markets are constantly shifting and a 15% restocking fee allows us to keep offering competitive prices and a generous rewards program.

Unopened Items

Unopened and unused items can be returned within 30 days unless specifically stated on the product details page. The packaging must be in the same condition as when initially received.

Opened Items

Opened items are not eligible for returns. this includes:

  • Items that have been opened or removed from the packaging
  • Items that have visible indications that the packaged has been opened
  • Opened cases that are no longer factory sealed

Clothing and Apparel

Used or worn clothing, apparel, and accessories may not be returned.

How to return an Item

Please contact Customer Service to receive authorization for your return so that the item(s) can be accepted. Any returns without authorization will be delayed and possibly not be eligible for a refund.

Return Shipping – Domestic Customers

If the return is due to our error, we will cover any return shipping fees as long as the return is completed through a HS return option (a prepaid label provided by us). If you choose a self-return option (a carrier or service of your choice) you will pay the cost charged by the carrier selected and will not be reimbursed. We are not responsible for any lost or damaged packages through a self-return option.

If the return is for any other reason, we will not pay for the return shipping fees and you will be responsible for all shipping costs without reimbursement. We are not responsible for any lost or damaged packages returned to us.

Return Shipping – International Customers

If the return is due to our error, we will issue store credit for what it would reasonably cost to ship the item back to us using a cost-efficient method. You will be responsible for shipping the item(s) back and paying for the actual shipping fees.

If the return is for any other reason, we will not pay for the return shipping fees and you will be responsible for all shipping costs without reimbursement. We are not responsible for any lost or damaged packages returned to us.

How to Prepare Your Item for Return Shipping

Please pack the item in an appropriate-sized shipping box and use bubble wrap or other fill to adequately protect the item. Please do not ever place the shipping label directly on the item to return it as this results in a partial or no refund. If the item is damaged in transit or received in less-than-original condition due to poor packaging your refund will be less.

Refunds

Refunds on returns are issued after the product has been received and processed. Refunds are in the original form of payment. In cases where this is not possible, store credit will be issued.

You may view your account to check a refund status. PayPal: Depends on your PayPal original source of payment. PayPal states up to 30 days. Store credit: Available immediately

Refused and Undeliverable Shipments

A refused shipment will be treated as a return and any return costs will be deducted from the refund.

If a shipment is returned to us as undeliverable due to an error on your part (such as incorrect address or not home), we will contact you to reship the package; any return and reshipping costs are due before the package is reshipped. Re-shipments for domestic customers may not be eligible for Flat Rate Shipping.

International customers will be responsible for any additional fees, duties, or taxes for refused or undeliverable shipments. If customs disposes your shipment for any reason, no refunds will be issued for product or shipping.

Restocking Fees

We typically assess a 15% restocking fees to recoup some of the cost associated with a returned item. We also will deduct further costs in some situations:

  • Returned shipment contains missing, damaged, or opened items
  • Merchandise inspected by Customs
  • The return was received after the 30 day return window
